Card Captor Sakura — Clear Card Arc

Sakura must now capture these mysterious Clear Cards, whose powers differ noticeably from those she once knew: more elusive, more intimately tied to her own emotions and to those of the people around her. This volume introduces Akiho Shinomoto, a new transfer student in Sakura's class, enigmatic and strangely connected to the ongoing events.

The character of Kaito, Akiho's mysterious and somewhat unsettling guardian, also begins to take shape in the background, hinting at a diffuse threat whose nature has yet to be uncovered. The chemistry between Sakura and Shaoran, now more mature, expresses itself with greater restraint but deeper feeling.

CLAMP takes care to let this new arc converse with the old one: the original cards, the guardians, and even Clow Reed's shadow continue to loom over the plot, suggesting that the mystery of the Clear Cards has roots in the very past Sakura thought she had closed.
