Cardcaptor Sakura the Movie

The first feature film in the series takes place during summer vacation, after all the Clow Cards have been captured and transformed into Sakura Cards. Sakura's entire class heads off on a trip to Hong Kong, Shaoran's home city, for a stay that promises to be equal parts studious and fun -- until it takes a mysterious turn.
Once there, Sakura is assailed by strange visions and dreams that keep drawing her back to an ancient tower, guarded by a mysterious presence tied to the very first steps of Clow Reed's own magic. Kerberos and Yue, worried, sense that a force older than the cards is at work, while Shaoran, on his home turf, tries to protect Sakura without shedding his usual reserve.
Carried by polished animation and a grand, cinema-worthy score, this film deepens the budding relationship between Sakura and Shaoran while shedding new light on the origins of the magical power she inherited without asking for it. A spectacular detour outside the strict continuity of the TV series, yet true to its spirit.
