Sakura and Meiling's Farewell

The dreaded moment arrives: Meiling has to go back to Hong Kong, her stay in Tomoeda coming to an end. Despite her initial provocations toward Sakura, the fiery girl has gradually grown attached to her and the whole group, making this farewell far more painful than expected for everyone, herself most of all.

As if to underscore the intensity of this last day, a Clow Card manifests one final time before Meiling's departure, giving Sakura and Shaoran the chance to team up once more under the emotional gaze of the girl about to leave. Meiling, who has no magical powers but boundless courage, still insists on playing her part in this last shared adventure.

On the platform or at the airport, the goodbyes are filled with touching sincerity: Meiling finally and openly acknowledges the friendship that binds her to Sakura and lets Shaoran follow his own path, without bitterness. This episode emotionally closes out Meiling's arc, while quietly confirming that Shaoran's feelings for Sakura have grown into something even his cousin can no longer ignore.
