Sakura Kinomoto is an energetic, warm-hearted ten-year-old schoolgirl who lives in Tomoeda with her father Fujitaka and her brother Toya.

One day, she accidentally opens a mysterious book found in her basement and releases the 52 Clow Cards, which scatter across the city. Kerberos, the Guardian of the book, then charges her with recovering them all as the new Cardcaptor.
