The time has come for the Final Judgment: Yue, the second guardian of the Clow Cards who had been hidden under the guise of Yukito, finally reveals himself and puts Sakura through a trial meant to determine whether she deserves to become the rightful Mistress of the Cards. This volume marks the culmination of the entire Clow Cards arc, in a sequence that is both spectacular and deeply moving.

Sakura confronts her own limits here, helped at the last moment by Shaoran, who chooses — in a gesture that seals their bond for good — to give up his own claim to the cards in order to support her. The revelation of Yukito/Yue's dual identity also reshuffles the relationships between the characters, including the ambiguous, tender bond that ties him to Toya.

Sakura triumphs over the trial and officially becomes the new Mistress of the Clow Cards — an achievement that closes this first great narrative cycle, but which, as the final pages suggest, is far from the end of her magical adventure.
